Last Sabbath, we went to Grandview, Texas. Grandview was only a 20 minute drive from Keene. It’s part of Keene Church as a branch Sabbath School.
Sabbath School was interesting. The teacher was prepared. He gave us handouts and he seemed to know a lot about Ellen White’s writings.
Between Sabbath School and the church service, Edwin played “People Need The Lord” on his sax. I was surprised. I didn’t know he played the sax.
During the church service, Sara gave an high-energy children’s story. Mahalia sang for special music and then Lubasi preached on Romans 12:1-2. The title of the sermon was “Living Sacrifices”.
One of my friends really enjoyed the sermon. The sermon spoke about similar things she had been reading about in one of her Christian books.
POTLUCK
Small churches have some of the best potlucks.
AFTERNOON PROGRAM
We gave the church a copy of Bob Pickle’s book, A Response to the Video:
Seventh-day Adventism — The Spirit Behind the Church. This book defends Ellen White from some of her critics. The Sabbath School teacher in my class was glad to receive this book. He spoke about the Ellen White critics on the web. He asked for more copies and we told him we would provide.
Mahalia gave a five song mini-concert. Alex introduced her songs and sang with her on one song. Josh talked about the start of the Adventist church in Texas, and Mary gave her testimony about being blessed by reading Ellen White’s book, Early Writings.
